Standing Together Stronger

Staying motivated while working remotely and keeping a positive attitude in these unprecedented times. Sharing some simple tricks to keep you motivated.

First and foremost, I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well. Being in the midst of the second wave, the last few weeks haven’t been easy! Social distancing being the hardest aspect of the pandemic especially because we need each other. Even then, its strange how in such times of social distancing we all have come closer to each other by extending help and showing compassion (a best know human emotion!)

This is a time for prudence, not panic! science, not stigma! facts, not fear! The cloud of corona has caused a lot of hardship but in addition have also helped us to learn to live gracefully with uncertainty and cope better with the unknown.

I want to encourage my friends, my colleagues, my employees, my business associates, the entire community to remember the big picture. This is a time to focus on and be grateful for your family’s safety, health, and well-being. The stronger we are in our mental, emotional, and physical self-care, the more healthy we will stay. And the healthier we stay, the stronger we’ll be for our families, friends, coworkers, and community at large.

Staying motivated can be tricky but it’ll help refocus our attention away from these stressful changes and towards a more hopeful future. Below are some simple tips on how you can stay motivated during this time.

Set small daily goals

Be realistic with the goals you set for yourself. Big goals may seem insurmountable right now, so instead, set small goals that you can easily check off your list. This will make your day as productive as possible.

Carve out time in your day for work and for relaxation

Working from home can take a toll in 2 different directions – it can either be much harder to get through daily tasks when the temptation of Netflix is quite literally right there or it can lead to a serious case of overworking. Carving out a schedule for when you’ll work and when you’ll relax can help you to manage a healthy work life balance at home.

Schedule virtual get-togethers with friends

Not getting to spend time with friends can be emotionally taxing. However, scheduling virtual get-togethers often will help in feeling less anxious and more connected.

Prioritize your mental health

Prioritize yourself! Know that your mental health, your well being is top most priority. Try to move a bit each day with a small walk or online yoga classes, eat a balanced home cooked meal, maintain a proper sleep schedule with 8 hours of sleep. Allow yourself to enjoy TV and social media but limit hearing to pandemic related news for a short time.Stay informed from reputable sources, but avoid getting wrapped up in constant news coverage that will only heighten anxiety.

Be okay with not being highly productive right now

Life ain’t normal right now. You’ll have both kind of days – good days where you’ll be highly motivated and bad days where motivation can be nowhere to be found. Remember when work seems impossible, get through the work that must be done, after your high priority tasks are checked off give yourself a day off.

Though this pandemic can feel like it’s never-ending, we must believe, “this too shall pass” as it will eventually pass. Last but not the least, I want to thank each member of my Team FA including our business partners, customers and employees for staying strong and fighting this together. Sending out positive vibes- a prayer for all. Stay safe and stay strong.
