PD Merchant – Soft Home Furnishing
Job brief
A Textile Product Developer manages the full-cycle creation of fabrics and home products from concept to
production, focusing on design, technical specifications, material sourcing, and quality. Key
responsibilities include trend research, managing sampling and fittings, and ensuring cost-effective,
high-quality production.
Product Development & Sampling:
- Reviewing design briefs, selecting materials and trims, and managing the creation of prototypes and
samples.
Costing & Negotiation:
- Calculating product costs and negotiating with suppliers to ensure profitability.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong ability to analyze data for trends and costs.
Communication:
- Effective negotiation and coordination between buyers and vendors.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of materials, garment construction, or product specifications.
- Experience in sampling processes
- Strong follow-up skills to ensure timely responses and actions
Organizational Skills:
- Managing multiple development projects simultaneously.
Experience: 3 – 5 Yrs
Qualification: BFTech, B.Des. M.Des
